Bloomingdale’s Middle East has launched ‘The Pioneers’ initiative during the Holy Month of Ramadan, to highlight the efforts of people who are paving the way for a big impact, thereby making lasting changes.

Among ‘The Pioneers’ who are creating hope and instigating change within the UAE and across the region are Shadia Al-Jabri, director of Rawafed Development and Learning Centre. Known as ‘The Humanitarian’, Al-Jabri takes education to heart and has dedicated her career to supporting and providing underprivileged children with the education they deserve.

‘The Activist’, Noor Al Obaid is the founder of Bake and Educate. Kuwaiti-Syrian Al Obaid has found her calling in baking for a cause, continuously raising awareness and supporting families in Kuwait who are unable to cover their children’s tuition fees.

Bedour Al-raqbany, director and founder of Kalamati Centre for Communication and Rehabilitation is known as ‘The Trailblazer’. A proud mother to a child of determination, Al-raqbany opened the centre’s doors to the public in the hope of becoming the first community service establishment dedicated to treating children with special needs.

‘The Innovators’ Maryam Belhoul, Ahmed Al Zarooni and Rama Husamddine have founded “With Hope” with an aim to build a supportive and coexistent community by promoting mental health awareness through volunteerism in the UAE.
