American luggage concept Samsonite Group has announced the opening of two new showrooms in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The new stores, located on King Abdullah Street and Al Orooba Street, are part of Samsonite’s strategy to be accessible to its customers. Both stores showcase the entire range of Samsonite luggage solutions including the latest business collection, backpacks and travel accessories.

The store on King Abdullah Street measures 1,200 sqft, while the one on Al Orooba Street covers an area of 800 sqft. Samsonite currently operates 17 showrooms in Saudi Arabia.

“We are extremely bullish about our expansion in Saudi Arabia and the new stores reinforce our ambitious growth plans. There is a huge potential in KSA for world-class luggage solutions, and we are happy to provide accessible stores at strategic locations. Saudi Arabia is a key market in our growth plans, and our expansion coincides with our biggest sales season — summer, when traditionally we see an upswing in the demand for our luggage,” says Jai Krishnan, vice-president Middle East, East Africa and SAARC, Samsonite.

The brand has also unveiled plans to open 10 more showrooms in KSA over the next two years.

“We aim to further enhance our retail footprint in the country, with more stores in the near future. Through this aggressive expansion, we plan to further our legacy of leading the travel industry to new levels of innovation, not only in KSA but also across the Middle East in the years to come,” Krishnan adds.

Established in 1910, Samsonite has grown from a small company with 20 employees in Denver, Colorado, into a global corporation.
