US-based technology firm Apple has signed an agreement with Saudi Arabia-based bookshop chain Jarir to supply all Apple products through the outlet. This first-of-its-kind deal for the Middle East also signs up Jarir to provide after-sales service for Apple products.
According to Jarir’s chairman Mohammad al-Aqeel, the agreement will allow Apple products to be sold at Jarir outlets at slightly reduced prices. The deal will also help reduce the supply time, which used to range between three and six months till now, he says.
Apple has never previously dealt directly with retail outlets headquartered in the Middle East. The agreement will allow Jarir to increase its supply of Apple products and overcome the issue of short supply in the Saudi market.
