One of the newest additions to Dubai’s dining scene is Purani Dilli, officially set to open on January 14 at Four Points by Sheraton, Downtown. Blending ingenuity with the culinary traditions of India’s rich past, Purani Dilli is where Old Delhi’s most revered recipes will come to life. With a keen focus on reviving authentic flavours, the offerings at Purani Dilli promises to infuse traditional flavours with popular favourites of the region.

Every culinary creation at Purani Dilli nods to the cultural legacy of Delhi, influenced by some of the most flourishing dynasties and empires of the world. The culinary team has travelled the fabled streets of Delhi to create a unique menu that carries on the legacy of the birthplace of Mughlai cuisine. The menu is a sublime reflection of Delhi’s historic association as the centuries-old Mughal capital and India’s national capital, presenting flavours of the grand past in its most authentic form.

Right from the tantalizing appetizers to the hearty mains and indulgent desserts, each dish on the menu has a story and rich history behind its flavours. While dishes lean heavily on recipes borrowed from the legendary kitchens of the Mughals, diners can feast on an assortment of kebabs, biryani and nihari inspired by the buzzing by-lanes of Old Delhi, including the famed Chandni Chowk and Jama Masjid.

“Purani Dilli at Four Points by Sheraton, Downtown will treat guests to Old Delhi’s grand past with our novel menu. Guests can relish flavours from Delhi’s erstwhile royal culinary heritage with our popular dishes like nihari, biryani, kebabs. Drawing inspiration from the assorted offerings of Chandni Chowk and Jama Masjid, our desserts boast of unique treats like beetroot halwa, infused into all-time favourite halwas and chutneys. Purani Dilli is all about relishing fine flavours in a minimalistic, elegant setting,” shares Afroz Alam, sous chef at Purani Dilli, Four Points by Sheraton, Downtown.

Set in a minimalistic, elegant setting, the restaurant interiors capture the charm of buzzing by-lanes, aptly reflected in decor, live entertainment by singers as well as the chudiwalla or bangle seller in the lobby and the cycle rikshaw, creating an Insta-worthy environment.
