Not just a bakery

“By pushing the boundaries of culinary excellence, by introducing innovative concepts, we’ve been able to elevate our brand beyond just a bakery or café” – Hind Al Mulla, Founder, Home Bakery

The Home Bakery story began in a home kitchen by Emirati foodpreneur Hind Al Mulla, who takes great pleasure in feeding people and spreading happiness through food. A self-taught pastry chef, Hind ventured into the kitchen creating new recipes and delicious desserts. She opened the first location of Home Bakery in 2012 which gained popularity overnight. Within two months of opening, she was greeted by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, which gave her the fuel to grow the brand.

Home Bakery at a Glance

  • Launched in 2012.
  • Co-Founder & MD: Abdulla AlMulla
  • Currently 9 locations.

Over the years, Home Bakery has built an undisputed reputation for its range of irresistible desserts and seasonal savoury dishes, through both Home Bakery and more recently with the introduction of Home Bakery Kitchen. Each item is lovingly handmade, with recipes inspired by both authentic local ingredients and international favourites.

As Home Bakery continues to experiment with new flavours and combinations, here’s an innovation that Hind is proud to have implemented.

“One of the innovations that I’m exceptionally proud to have implemented is the introduction of Emirati fine dining. This concept isn’t just about serving delicious food; it’s about showcasing Emirati cuisine in a fine-dining setting, something that hadn’t been done before in our region. Through Emirati Chef’s Table, we offered a unique culinary experience, highlighting the rich flavours and cultural heritage of Emirati cuisine. This innovation not only celebrated our local food traditions but also provided an opportunity for cultural exchange and appreciation among our guests. It demonstrated our commitment to creativity, cultural preservation and culinary excellence. Moreover, it allowed us to carve a niche in the competitive food scene of the UAE,” she shared.

Having represented the UAE at the World Economic Forum at Davos, Switzerland, and among several other achievements Hind remains focused on broadening the boundaries of her business within and beyond the UAE.
