Marina Mall Abu Dhabi collaborates with Pink Caravan

February 21, 2019 | By RetailME Bureau

Marina Mall Abu Dhabi has teamed up with UAE-based breast cancer awareness and screening initiative Pink Caravan to encourage all women and men across Abu Dhabi to get tested.

Running from February 21 until March 2, the medical staff from Pink Caravan will offer women free advice and screening for breast cancer at a private booth in the shopping mall.

Pink Caravan promotes early breast cancer detection, offering women of all ages free breast cancer screening. They will be sharing the message that the earlier cancer is detected, the easier it is to treat. Visitors will also have a chance to speak to medical experts and learn about the disease, its causes, symptoms and methods of detection.

Commenting on the initiative, Dr Sawsan Al Madhi, director general of Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) and head of the Pink Caravan Ride Medical and Awareness Committee, says “The essence of the Pink Caravan Ride’s efforts lies in our belief that healthcare must be easily accessible to members of the community. Therefore, we joined hands with Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi to provide a medical screening clinic that will be providing awareness, education and free breast cancer clinical examination. We call on all women and men above the age of 20 to visit our specialist medical staff at the Pink Caravan clinic for a free check-up.”

Specialist doctors from Healthpoint Hospital are involved in the Pink Caravan initiative and will be at Marina Mall Abu Dhabi.
