Tejar Dubai launches three commercial projects for Emirati entrepreneurs

The Tejar Dubai entrepreneurship development programme – a Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry-led initiative that provides youth with access to an extensive development programme, networking opportunities and access to investment capital – has launched three commercial projects to support creative and commercially-minded youth, helping them turn their business ideas into reality.

The recently launched commercial projects include Video Tube offering services in marketing and digital media; Redjani E-Shop for trading online; and Etihad OS, a first-of-its-kind Emirati operating system.

The three new commercial projects were launched in the presence of Hisham Al Shirawi, second vice chairman, Dubai Chamber and head of Tejar Dubai selection committee panel; Dr Aisha Bin Bishr, director general, Smart Dubai Office; and Essa Al Zaabi, senior vice president, Institutional Support Sector and general coordinator of Tejar Dubai as well as a number of upcoming entrepreneurs.

According to Al Shirawi, the launch of these projects reflects the Dubai Chamber’s commitment to support the culture of entrepreneurship while helping young Emiratis to enter the world of business with their own commercial projects. The entrepreneurship development programme not only supports the young entrepreneurs to develop business ideas but also provides them a wide range of training and tips from experts in the field. He praised the enthusiasm and commitment shown by the young participants of the programme who came up with innovative ideas, while striving hard to turn these into viable business projects.

Video Tube offers integrated services in marketing and digital media, specialising in establishing and managing projects on YouTube website and develops a plan for the programme’s content and implementation, which serves the client’s marketing plan.

Sultan Al Suwaidi, owner of Video Tube, expressed his delight at the project’s inauguration, which he said has come out of a unique study of the requirements of the client in providing interesting information to the viewers in the form of a short documentary film, promotional images infographic motion and animated 2D or 3D images on YouTube which enjoys larger hits in social media. He lauded the support provided by Tejar Dubai in setting up of the project in record time, while also helping him overcome the challenge faced in hiring staff.

Another project, the Redjani E-Shop offers an e-gate for a business to start, expand and trade through an organised online platform. Its owner, Hamad Eghdani, informs that he invented a way to connect entrepreneurs with potential buyers to avoid the common mistakes that most of them make while selling on social media by providing an online platform called Redjani.com – an e-shop that offers a quick solution to get start-ups gain cash, develop customer data and test the market through selling their products online just like they do on social media. It offers full support to ensure smooth transactions such as logistic, payment gateway and many more features to support quick start-ups.

Eghdani informed that Tejar Dubai not only helped hone his talent but also opened a lot of doors by constantly supporting him in meeting his partners and different entrepreneurs with whom he exchanged experiences as the Tejar workshops helped shape his business idea.

The third project Etihad OS is the first Emirati operating system that can be integrated with most devices including PCs, laptops, smartphones and tablets. Initiated by Muharami brothers, Said and Khalid Al Muharami, the system is highly secure and customisable and has local management and updates and a vision to export Emirati technology to the world.

“Tejar Dubai has provided us with valuable guidance on how to move our company in the right direction and has also opened doors to new business opportunities,” the Muharami brothers share. The entrepreneurship development programme is unique because of its support and acceptance of visionary businesses rather than being limited to basic traditional businesses, and this support is what gives entrepreneurs the confidence to turn their idea into a reality.

On his part, Al Zaabi stated that with the launch of these three commercial projects this year, the total number of projects supported by Tejar Dubai has shot up to 17 in about a year’s time. This shows that the entrepreneurship development programme is headed in the right direction in providing guidance to the young Emirati talents’ innovative ideas, while inspiring them to set up their own businesses.
