TheLuxuryCloset launches Android app

July 17, 2017 | By Rupkatha B

Online luxury marketplace TheLuxuryCloset has launched its first-ever Android mobile app targeting the Middle East and US markets.

The online fashion boutique hopes the new app, which features the company’s popular buy in instalments feature as well as access to a range of limited edition items, will bring its unique e-commerce concept to new markets in the Middle East and globally.

Kunal Kapoor, CEO of TheLuxuryCloset, said the launch was a natural step for the company, given the success of its iOS app, which has witnessed ‘tremendous growth’ since its launch in October last year.

“Everything that can be done on web, can be done through our new Android app. The functionality and ease-of-use of the app offers a unique way for customers to connect with TheLuxuryCloset as well as their favourite brands, and provides an opportunity for them to develop a much deeper connection with us,” says Kapoor.

To date, the iOS app has had 50,000 downloads with the UAE accounting for almost half of all downloads. The next biggest markets are Saudi Arabia, the US, Kuwait and Bahrain.

Both the iOS and the new Android app offer consumers in two languages, English and Arabic, the ability to, among other things, maintain their wish list and stay abreast of the latest promotions and new product listings through push and in-app notifications. In addition, the item submission section has been revamped meaning it now takes just a few clicks to submit an item.

“In an era of mobile-first, consumers are spending most of their time on mobile devices, and mobile apps provide an instant, direct-to-consumer shopping experience, which we have been quick to capitalise on. Mobile is opening up a whole new landscape of communication that is helping us to reach out to even more customers than before,” Kapoor adds.

The app is available to download now on Google Play and the company is also working on a new store credit feature, which is due to be launched towards the end of this year.
