BurJuman Centre to host Ripe Market

BurJuman Centre will host the Ripe community market starting end of this month in order to give community residents access to fresh produce and provide a fun event for Dubai residents. The inaugural pop-up market event will launch on August 27 and will be followed monthly.

The Ripe Night Market will set up one Thursday evening pop-up market event per month at BurJuman Centre during August and September, offering the community a chance to get access to homemade fashion and crafts, take in folk music, and, of course, buy fresh fruits, vegetables and dairy products.

The market focuses on providing individuals with the tools to lead a healthier, more sustainable lifestyle, and function as a community hub where individuals can interact in a fun, informal environment.

In addition to mounds of organic kale and locally produced eggs, the market will also consist of thirty artisan stalls – focusing on items that have been made in the UAE. One such vendor, Child of the Tropics, sells locally made bikinis and beach bags. Along the same lines, Wild Wood makes and sells wood sunglasses with frames sourced from nature.

“BurJuman Centre is truly at the heart of Dubai and its vibrant community. We’re very pleased to offer services and entertainment to give the community more places to gather and access fresh produce, local arts and crafts and entertainment,” says Ela Eldem, marketing manager, BurJuman Centre.

“Ripe Market has always been about promoting a healthy lifestyle and educating the community about the benefits of organic food. Expanding our market’s reach, by way of BurJuman Centre, is an exciting step for us. We look forward to the chance to bring local vendors directly to the consumer in a new venue,” adds Becky Balderstone, owner and founder, Ripe Market.
