In support of emerging local talent, Dubai-based retail conglomerate Al-Futtaim’s luxury department store Robinsons launches the second edition of ‘THE COLLECTOR’, a unique space dedicated to exclusively feature local designer collections.

The platform, located on the first floor of the department store and created in partnership with the Dubai Design and Fashion Council (DDFC), sees collections from two local talents showcasing their ready-to-wear collections, which have been created specifically for Robinsons. This edition of THE COLLECTOR features pieces by Deborah Henning and House of Fatam, to be showcased for the next three months.

House of Fatam

“Robinsons is a space that combines unique and on-trend pieces from some of the best designers and is curated beautifully to create a seamless shopping experience for our clientele. Supporting home-grown, local talent that aims to bring luxury and beauty to the fashion scene is something we are proud to do with initiatives such as THE COLLECTOR. It also provides our clientele with the unique opportunity to discover brands closer to home,” says general manager, Adosh Sharma.

House of Fatam, a contemporary Emirati label based out of Dubai presents beautiful ethereal fashion which is brought to life through their prints and unique hand embroidery. The Shalimar AW18 collection is inspired by various elements ranging from fairy tales to the city of Dubai. The beauty of every beautifully crafted design is reflected through intricate hand embroidered embellishments to unique prints.

The Deborah Henning label is a beautiful mix of playful and chic androgynous womenswear, which is based on the concept of casual perfection. Harnessing the ‘just out of bed’ look in a subtle and sensual manner whilst keeping a refined and unforced styling attitude.

As part of the DDFC’s – that aims to raise the profile of Dubai as a regional and global destination for design and a hub for the design industry – mandate to enable the growth and recognition of designers based in the UAE and the MENA region, THE COLLECTOR is a platform that truly encompasses the goals of the council.
