RAW Coffee adds a new revenue stream

RAW – Virtual Barista

Home-grown brand, RAW Coffee Company has recently added a new revenue stream with the launch of an interactive virtual barista assistance service to offer customers a barista-worthy cup of coffee from the comfort of their homes.

“As a company, we were very popular with the barista training sessions; our training department was fully booked months ahead of time and most weekends prior to the COVID-19. So, it was a long-term strategy to add an interactive virtual barista assistance service as a new revenue stream,” explains owner Kim Thompson.

“While our roastery and café is open, we are not yet able to operate at 100% capacity, as we must adhere to the social distancing regulations. Hence, the interactive virtual barista assistance service is a good source of revenue. In addition, since we source and deliver our own coffees, we know these coffees intimately and can provide the sensory experience of the training,” she adds.

With the interactive virtual barista assistance service, RAW Coffee is able to offer a professional and personalised coffee experience in the UAE. From milk science and latte art, perfecting brewing methods, understanding the importance of the grind size and brewing extractions, to troubleshooting the espresso machine, the virtual barista service has a solution for all. The service is designed to give all the tips and tricks to making home-made coffee taste as good as it does in the café.

The 30-minute session is priced at AED225, while the one-hour session costs AED350 and includes coffee that the brand delivers to the trainee prior to the session.
