Kava & Chai opens in Mall of the Emirates

UAE’s home-grown coffeehouse, Kava & Chai, now has a third venue, located at Mall of the Emirates on the ground floor opposite Centrepoint.

“We’ve chosen to launch our latest outlet at Mall of the Emirates as it is a hub and popular shopping and lifestyle destination for both visiting tourists and residents. This is perfectly in line with Kava & Chai’s vision of bridging cultures and bringing people together by introducing the Middle Eastern heritage of coffee and tea to the world. We are greatly looking forward to welcoming our first guests to the coffeehouse and to building a loyal community, allowing passers-by to stop by and indulge in a memorable moment with us,” says Samer Choucair, VP, CE-Ventures.

Kava & Chai is famous for its special ties to Arabic heritage, and features strong links to the traditions of serving visitors coffee and tea. At Mall of the Emirates, Kava & Chai sports a brand-new look and feel, merging the old with the new.

Designed by 4Space, Kava & Chai in Mall of the Emirates spans over 400 sqft. The focal point of the design are the tubes installation and globe lights. It has a bold element that creates a ceiling statement. The whole inspiration came from the Arabica tree and clusters of coffee beans. To add a layer of graphic element, a leaf pattern has been created to promote the new branding identity.

Pops of teal add to the inviting nature of the café. It provides depth and an alternative to white walls that have dominated trends in recent times. The icons of Kava & Chai are laid into the modern Terrazzo table tops, which are chic and the floor has mosaic finishes with large marble slabs.

For the chairs and seating pods, upholstery has come to the scene as the answer to tight café seating area with a colour of the Pantone live coral. For the counter, Oakwood and engraved icons have been used for a more refined look.

Kava & Chai opened its first location in Sharjah at the American University and the second venue in August last year at Al Seef, Dubai.
