Japan IT Week boost for Indian IT trade

Just concluded Japan IT Week 2015 has given a fresh boost for India-Japan trade expansion and investment ties.

A team representing the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) and comprising 70 small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs) exhibited at the event from May 13-to-15 in Tokyo.

The participating Indian companies displayed their latest IT innovations. Out of the 70 Indian exhibitors, seven companies, including Dream Team Technology, Embart and Intellisys, already have good presence in the Middle East.

“The Indian IT industry is looking to expand business with Japan and the Middle East as both regions have mutual trust and co-operation with Indian IT companies,” says Kamal Vachani, regional director, ESC, Middle East. Japan is characterised by a high level of foreign trade. The ESC delegation sought to strengthen India’s IT trade with Japan.

The growth drivers for IT have been the verticals of manufacturing, telecommunication, insurance, banking, finance and, of late, the retail industry. The future growth of IT and ITeS will be fuelled by climate change, mobile applications, healthcare, energy efficiency and sustainable energy.
