Carrefour strengthens Emiratisation commitment

Carrefour, which is owned and operated by Majid Al Futtaim Retail in the region, reaffirms its promise to source products locally as part of a cooperation agreement signed with the Sharjah Department of Agriculture and Livestock (SDAL), first reported by Emirates news Agency – WAM.

Through the cooperation agreement Carrefour will support local agricultural and animal products, exchange experiences and develop marketing strategies along with SDAL. The agreement aligns with the National Strategy for Food Security 2051 that aims to strengthen local production and enhance food security in the region.

Notably, Carrefour already sources over 80% of its products from the region as part of its commitment to supporting local economies, producers and suppliers in the communities.
