The retail industry has been moving at breakneck speed. It has transformed greatly in the last five years. E-commerce giant Amazon has set up physical stores, while Walmart has partnered with Lyft and Uber to deliver goods faster to boost sales. Size, thus, doesn’t matter; the ability to adapt to changes is what matters today. Big changes have happened in the Middle East too. Retail conglomerates like the Lulu Group and Landmark Group have developed omnichannel presence to cater for the connected consumer, enabling them to shop from their couch, while delighting them in stores as well. While the last five years have led to some lasting transformations in retail, there’s more to come. With the evolved and connected consumers demanding much more than ever before, retail is expected to see far more rapid and drastic changes in the next five years
