Abu Dhabi-based Aldar Properties’ mixed-use urban centre The Mall at World Trade Center (The Mall at WTCAD) has transformed its retail mix with the addition of 17 new brands to its 230-strong portfolio.

By offering Abu Dhabi residents and tourists a vibrant and distinctive shopping experience, the mall has experienced a positive year-on-year increase in traffic for 2018, driven by the diversification of its portfolio, exciting entertainment and enticing offers from retailers.

Since the beginning of the year, nine new brands have opened for trading and additional eight will open during the remaining part of the year. While refreshing its retail mix, The Mall at WTCAD has also undergone a modern interior and exterior facelift, with the building enhancements elevating the holistic customer experience.

“We are evolving the retail mix of The Mall at WTCAD to ensure we are constantly meeting the changing expectations, demographics shifts and preferences of our customers. The new brands have proven to be a great success and we have been delighted to begin to see positive signs of uplift in footfall. By embracing the evolution of our local market, we have repositioned The Mall as a mixed-use urban retail centre that appeals to downtown residents, office workers and tourists through our diverse mix of shopping, dining and entertainment options,” says mall general manager, Yasser Al Marzouqi

A number of stores have opened in recent weeks including Max Fashion, Pure Gold Jewellers as well as F&B concepts Taqado Mexican Kitchen, The Hub, Back Yard Bistro. The Mall at WTCAD will continue to welcome new brands, with at least five more brands set to open by September this year. The next grand opening will be Lulu Hypermarket in the first week of July.

After that, fun eateries will launch at The Mall at WTCAD, including The Sugar Factory, The Pancake House, Al Mandoos, The Surf Café and Hot Palayok, in addition to Action Zone and Train Gym.
