Sunset Mall supports artistic children with special needs this Ramadan

Jumeirah-based shopping mall, Sunset Mall is marking this year’s Ramadan differently by raising awareness for Dubai Centre for Special Needs (DCSN).

The community mall, which is owned by Dubai Investment Properties LLC, has organised an exciting Ramadan-themed art exhibition under the themes of “Ramadan, Happiness, Sharing and Kindness.” Titled “Art For Good”, the art exhibition has started today, May 23, and will run until the end of Ramadan.

“Sunset Mall is proud to be associated with DCSN in marking this year’s holy month of Ramadan. The Art For Good exhibition, which will showcase unique works of art created by the students of DCSN, is our unique way of celebrating this holy event. Our objective is to enhance awareness for this important institution,” says Melville Goveas, operational marketing manager, Sunset Mall.

The art exhibition is part of the retailer’s support for the noble ‘Year of Tolerance’ initiative, which was mooted by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.

As part of this initiative, Sunset Mall has offered free mall space for the art exhibition. According to Goveas, this will set a strong foundation for a long-term partnership with DCSN as well as other like-minded non-profit organisations in the region.

Speaking on behalf of DCSN, director, Dr Mahshid Salehi, adds, “We are happy to be partnering with Sunset Mall to not only mark this year’s Ramadan in style but also in giving our students with special needs a platform to show the world what they can do. We, therefore, welcome everyone to this noble initiative to support and encourage our talented students.”

The Art For Good artworks, which include paintings and artefacts, are exclusively created by the children of DCSN at their centre in Al Safa, Dubai.
