Reluxable: Bringing luxury secondhand shopping worldwide

January 11, 2022 | By 123

A Dubai-based female entrepreneur Marie-Hélène Stavelot has launched an online platform that is changing the face of luxury secondhand shopping worldwide. Reluxable brings together a range of verified secondhand retailers enabling consumers to browse pre-loved products all in one place, with sustainability and ease of transaction at its core. Users can browse men’s and women’s clothing plus shoes, accessories, watches, and more from thousands of designer brands in one easy-to-navigate portal with the option to curate a wishlist and to create a login profile for ease of use. Gathering all these luxury resellers in one place enables the customers to compare items and prices more easily. The technology aims to reduce the number of online destinations the user must visit to find quality, pre-loved items.

The pre-loved market has grown exponentially over the past decade. In 2020, the global secondhand luxury goods market was valued at 26.89 Billion USD. The market is expected to grow over the following years, with many consumers waking up to the environmental footprint of fast fashion, using more time spent at home to clear out their closets, and having more pressure on their financial situation.

With large partners already on board, such as The Luxury Closet based in Dubai, Lampoo based in Milan, What Goes Around Comes Around based in New York, and others, Reluxable features high-end pre-loved pieces from the likes of Hermès, Patek Philippe, and Chanel. Founder Marie-Hélène Stavelot is on a mission to get more people to join the sustainable fashion circular movement by bringing together technology, fashion, and sustainability to provide a one-stop solution. The website also focuses on education by offering the latest fashion tips and articles ranging from how to sell luxury garments to how to reuse timeless fashion pieces and make a statement. It also highlights the impacts of the fashion industry on the planet.

“I am very excited to introduce Reluxable, a platform leading the way forward to recyclable luxury fashion, creating an easy online solution for our clients. The fashion industry today is the second-largest polluter in the world – let’s all work together to change this, using the belief that ‘vintage never dies’. There are so many beautiful fashion items and pieces to reuse and play with around the world and, our hope is to become ambassadors of nature and sustainability”, said Marie-Hélène Stavelot.
