Dubai-based developer Meraas has announced the establishment of Valiant Clinic at City Walk, its first healthcare and wellness project, under the management of Houston Methodist Global Health Care Services, the international subsidiary of world-renowned H ouston Methodist Hospital in the US.
Developed and owned by Meraas as part of its newly established healthcare division, the outpatient clinic will offer comprehensive diagnostic and wellness services with a focus on preventive care. Spanning 161,458 sqft, Valiant Clinic will incorporate state-of-the-art technology allowing integration across platforms such as wearable technology and mobile applications. The implementation of an electronic health record system will provide healthcare professionals with instant access to health records at the clinic. Valiant Clinic is scheduled to open doors this year.
“Valiant Clinic is the first project to become operational within the Meraas healthcare division, and we are delighted to enter the market to complement the existing healthcare landscape with an offering of exceptional quality. We are committed to supporting the Dubai Medical Tourism Strategy that aims to attract 500,000 medical tourists to the emirate by 2020. We strongly believe that Meraas through the introduction of Valiant Clinic will significantly raise the bar on the delivery of healthcare services in the UAE and the wider region and contribute to Dubai’s vision of becoming a leading medical tourism destination,” says Hamad Al Matrooshi, senior vice president of healthcare at Meraas.
“The appointment of Houston Methodist Global Health Care Services comes as part of our commitment to providing international expertise and quality services that today’s customers demand. Given its holistic approach to diagnosis and wellness firmly rooted in the belief that prevention is eminently preferable to the reactive treatment of illnesses, we are confident that Houston Methodist Global Health Care Services will ensure that Valiant Clinic will offer patient centric services,” he adds.
“We are committed to improving the health of the world community through sharing our innovative, personalised patient care and health care expertise as well as standards of clinical service excellence. By working with Meraas, we aspire, through Valiant Clinic, to positively impact healthcare in the region and promote the importance of a healthy lifestyle and preventative medicine as key to disease management,” states Cathy Easter, president and CEO of Houston Methodist Global Health Care Services.
Under the leadership of Meraas and the supervision of Houston Methodist Global Health Care Services, Andrew Fisk has been appointed as the general manager of Valiant Clinic. Holding 25 years of healthcare experience in the US, 20 years of which he spent in leadership positions at Houston Methodist hospitals in Houston, Texas, Fisk will head the team of multi-specialty physicians and experts at Valiant Clinic in Dubai.
Once operational, Valiant Clinic will offer services including diagnostics and tailored check-up programmes, in addition to specialties such as cardiology, endocrinology, internal medicine, pulmonology and women’s health. Furthermore, Valiant Clinic will offer fully fitted-out private VIP lounges, comprehensive radiology and laboratory services as well as a dedicated physical therapy suite.
For the added convenience of customers, Valiant Clinic will also provide highly specialised concierge medicine services, and the option to consult a personal wellness counsellor.
