With an aim to add uniqueness to Qatar’s retail sector, Tawar Mall has signed commercial lease agreements with two new brands – SPAR hypermarket and Kaboom family entertainment centre – that are new to the country.
Tawar Mall, scheduled to open by the end of this year, will offer 979,515 sqft of retail space across 312 units on four floors and two basements.
“Consumer choice has grown steadily in Qatar. Our recent announcement is the first of many as we pursue our strategy to create a truly unique shopping destination,” says Pedro Ribeiro, general manager of Tawar Mall.
While SPAR is well-known for its commitment to outstanding service and excellence in fresh foods, Kaboom is a new concept family entertainment centre from Al Siddiqi Holding.
Tawar Mall represents the vision of the late entrepreneur Jabr Tawar Al-Kuwari. His son Jassim Tawar Al-Kuwari stepped up to represent the family last year and appointed a new management team to continue his father’s legacy.
“Retail developers are always competing to build the biggest mall, but we take a different view of what’s important to consumers,” asserts Jassim Tawar Al-Kuwari. “Delivering quality and choice is much more valuable than measuring square feet. And we are taking the first steps to deliver just that with these new lease agreements. This announcement is good news for the local and international community, for the retail sector as well as for our increasingly diverse economy.”
