Majid Al Futtaim (MAF), a shopping mall, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East and North Africa, has recently appointed new mall managers as part of the company’s strategic ambitious growth plans for City Centres Ajman, Fujairah and Sharjah. Led by a qualified team of UAE national retail experts, MAF diversifies the careers of mall management by extending growth opportunities across the portfolio of malls in the Northern Emirates.

Fuad Mansoor Sharaf, senior director of property management at MAF Properties, oversees the UAE shopping malls, in working with a diversity of both local and international staff. While there has been a marked increase in efforts across the board to drive forward Emiratisation, MAF continues to strive for the empowerment of local talent.

The newly appointed mall mangers – Mariam Al Jasmi of City Centre Sharjah, Abdulhamid Bukhashem of City Centre Ajman and Mohammed Al Rais of City Centre Fujairah – are all UAE Nationals who continue to share their industry expertise in their current roles.

Al Jasmi to oversee City Centre Sharjah will contribute to the growth and continued development of Sharjah’s premier shopping destination, in addition to maintaining a high level of customer service. With extensive experience in shopping mall management and HR management, Al Jasmi will play an instrumental role in supporting new projects and activities in City Centre Sharjah delivering new retailers to the emirate as part of a planned redevelopment later in the year.

Similarly Al Rais brings a refreshed approach to ensure the success of the premium shopping destination, City Centre Fujairah. Having worked with MAF since 2012, Al Rais will build on his asset management and operational experience. His previous roles at City Centres Deira and Mirdif provided him with new practices and insights into the operations of MAF’s shopping malls, spearheading a thorough and combined experience for customers.

Likewise Bukhashem has also been a part of MAF’s team since 2011. Contributing to City Centre Ajman’s positioning as a leading lifestyle destination, Bukhashem leverages on his six years of experience in management and finance. He is dedicated to the continued evolution of City Centre Ajman and the Northern Emirates malls.

“We have reassigned mall management roles at our shopping malls in the Northern Emirates, capitalising on each individual’s skill set and extending this knowledge base across the portfolio. By sharing best practices and local insights, MAF’s shopping malls benefit from the combined experience of some of the best retail talent in the region today,” adds Sharaf.
