Citron Opens first experiential store in Dubai

Home-grown children’s mealtime retailer Citron has opened its Dubai flagship store – offering a unique experience for shoppers with a focus on innovative and experiential retail design. Inspired by children’s playgrounds and the calm colours of nature, the new retail space is consciously designed with ‘future shoppers’ in mind. Muted tones are paired with bold shapes that both complement the Citron product range on display, as well as providing a playful atmosphere for younger visitors.

Located in Times Square Center, Sheikh Zayed Road,  the new Citron store offers a shopping adventure that showcases the extensive range of Citron products, beloved of parents and children alike, considerately and immaculately designed to entertain and inspire customers whilst they browse the unique and functional mealtime solutions that parents love for their quality, design and sustainability. Citron creates and distributes products including lunchboxes, snackboxes, water bottles, utensils and accessories for toddlers through to teens, with a focus on durability and practicality, since the brand launch in 2017.

The Citron brand was created by Sara Chemmaa in 2017, as a solution to feeding her own children, after struggling to find products that worked for her family needs, that actually worked. With this in mind, the new Citron store is designed with the same ethos – ‘to make life easier’ and to create a shopping experience that works for families. Children can make their entrance through the fun slide built just for them, whilst the adults make their way through the more traditional doorway into the spacious, well-lit environment.

The play and explore theme is maintained through the shop floor layout with purpose-built displays that not only showcase products but serve as an interactive play space for little ones, giving them permission to climb and play with the moveable features. The display also emphasises the functionality and quality of the Citron range, where the ‘child in mind’ can see, recognise and become ‘hands on’ with the product functionalities ease of use.

“The Citron brand was built on my desire to provide conscientious parents the quality and design in their mealtime products that I too needed for my own children – with this in mind, the new Citron store had to articulate the innovation, thoughtful design and quality that our customers have come to know and love from us. Shopping with children needs to be as positive an experience as we can make it for families, and by creating fun and playful elements across the store, we can engage children whilst the adults can easily browse, try and choose from our product range. Online retail and distribution has seen Citron grow at an exponential rate, and across the globe, but it is a true milestone that we are now able to bring our very own flagship store, that embodies the brand ethos, quality and functionality into this new innovative retail space within an easily accessible community based mall like Times Square Center”, said Citron Founder and CEO Sara Chemmaa

Across carefully arranged displays, shoppers can find the extensive selection of Citron product range. A theme of white and natural pale wood attract the eye to the store’s central focus. Since its launch, the brand has grown to include over 90 products including a sustainable range, a bamboo range and a range specifically designed for teenagers. In addition to the new Dubai-based store, Citron products can be found online at www.citron.ae in  retail outlets including Pottery Barn Kids, Crate and Barrel, Borders, Virgin Mega Store and Five Little Ducks. Citron is now available in 20 different markets across the globe, including China, Mexico, Australia and Hong Kong, and it has plans for this year to expand into the US and the UK amongst other locations.
