Apparel Group ventures into mall development with Grand Centrale

UAE-based multi-brand retailer Apparel Group marks its expansion into mall business with the launch of Grand Centrale, its first mall in Ajman, UAE. The new project was officially inaugurated by HH Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, ruler of Ajman.

The Grand Centrale, located at Ajman’s University Street, offers the convenience of a neighborhood shopping centre, with a variety of fashion and lifestyle choices. The 59,228 sqft mall spread across three levels encompasses a wide selection of brands and categories in a compact format. The mall’s ‘open store’ concept houses a number of Apparel Group brands including Athlete’s Co., Aldo, Aldo Accessories, All About Watches, Baby Centre, Bottega Verde, Call It Spring, Cold Stone Creamery, Dollar Plus, Glossip, Inglot, Nine West, R&B, Shoe Studio, Skechers and Tim Hortons.

“The opening of Grand Centrale Ajman marks yet another milestone in the history of Apparel Group and brings us a step closer to opening 1,200 stores by the end of 2015. It has taken months of hard work and unwavering commitment to make this dream a reality. I do believe the mall will become the destination of choice in Ajman for those seeking exceptional value in a friendly shopping environment,” says Nilesh Ved, chairman, Apparel Group.

The mall’s front façade has a dramatic glass panel designed to radiate light throughout the mall. On entering the mall, shoppers immediately walk through the ‘Beauty Avenue’ that has international cosmetic brands such as Inglot, Bottega Verde and Glossip. The Tim Hortons drive-thru outlet offers the convenience to grab a quick cup of coffee and bites.

The mall’s offering is strengthened by multiple and diverse anchor stores including Baby Centre, R&B, Shoe Studio and Dollar Plus, all of which are home-grown brands of Apparel Group.

With an idea of structuring a one-stop shop for all baby needs, Baby Centre is Apparel Group’s first home-grown children’s brand and has opened its first store in the UAE at Grand Centrale, Ajman. The brand offers a wide range of products from fashion clothing, baby care & baby essentials to toys, nursery furniture and home safety & travel accessories, delivering the best mix of well-known high-quality brands and in-house labels.

R&B offers clothing, footwear and accessories for children, women and men in a variety of styles to compliment the perfect look. The brand also has a swanky home section offering a great range of soft furnishings and home accessories.

Shoe Studio revolves around the F3 concept – fashion, family and footwear, offering the best of multi-faceted footwear brands at value prices. Dollar Plus, a dedicated one stop value store for all household and family needs, brings thousands of items in 14-plus major merchandise categories.
