Nesto, the retail arm of UAE-based conglomerate Western International Group, has opened its 30th outlet, a 240,000 sqft, multi-storied hypermarket in the Al Buteena area of Sharjah. The group’s largest hypermarket in the UAE offers a 150,000 SKU assortment across diverse categories including fresh foods, grocery and household items, health and beauty products, fashion accessories as well as consumer electronics.

“Our vision is to create a retail chain which is as friendly and accessible as your next door shop and at the same time provide the best quality products at the most competitive prices.  Sharjah is an important market in our overall plans and has always been a promising destination for our investments. Our new outlet is a symbol of our confidence in the bright future of Sharjah,” says KP Basheer, chairman, Western International Group.

Nesto has also announced its aim to have a 100 store presence in the next five years. These stores will be a mix of hypermarkets and supermarkets. “As per our three year strategic business plan, we plan to open 20 more stores in next three years and that will enhance our presence to 50 stores in the region by year 2015. We have allocated an outlay of around $0.5 billion (AED2 billion) for Nesto in the next three years,” adds Basheer.
