Marka expanding retail footprint

Marka PJSC has announced the opening of two new retail outlets – Cheeky Monkeys and Nike outlets – operated by its dedicated sports retail division, Marka Sports. The launch of a new Cheeky Monkeys outlet and Nike store form part of the company’s growth strategy focused on expanding its network of high-profile global brands and home-grown retail concepts.

“I am delighted to announce the opening of two exciting new outlets, Cheeky Monkeys and Nike, in Ras Al Khaimah and Al Ain, respectively,” says Marka CEO Nick Peel. “This is just the start of what we expect to be a busy 2016 as we continue to build a well-balanced retail portfolio with a focus on delivering long-term shareholder value.”

The ‘edutainment’ destination for children under six years of age, Cheeky Monkeys’ newest outlet is located in Al Naeem Mall – the brand’s first outlet outside of Dubai. The facility will provide a variety of classes specifically formulated to enhance toddlers’ developmental skills for which it has become famous. Marka has also confirmed that they are the exclusive Nike-only store operators in Al Ain offering the very best of Nike for women’s, men’s and kids’ activewear and footwear.

“The high demand for Nike and Cheeky Monkeys has enabled us to expand their presence across the UAE and we are delighted to be adding to these new stores to our retail network. This year is going to be an exciting one for Marka as we focus on building our portfolio of global and home-grown brands across Marka Hospitality, Marka Fashion and Marka Sports,” adds Peel.

That’s not all. Marka has also opened a new Reem Al Bawadi franchise outlet at Al Ain’s Hilli Mall along with the launch of global plus size fashion brand City Chic at Al Naeem Mall in Ras Al Khaimah. In addition, Ras Al Khaimah will soon be home to a sixth owner-operated Reem Al Bawadi restaurant, which is due to open in the coming weeks, also at Al Naeem Mall.
