The region’s logistics sector is poised to grow exponentially and Al-Futtaim Logistics is gearing up to meet the future requirements by investing in new infrastructure, expanding geographic reach and service innovation. It recently opened a 538,195 sqft warehouse, distribution and office facility in Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) South Zone and Dubai Industrial City to accommodate the growing regional needs for cost-effective storage solutions for its clients. Additionally, the company has also invested in a dedicated home delivery fleet to service the needs of its clients. The investment called for a 322,917 sqm distribution centre, fleet and technology dedicated to offering centralised and automated home delivery platform in real-time live trading environment.

“Over the past year, more focus has been placed to expand beyond our core offerings extending Al-Futtaim Logistics’ capabilities to provide comprehensive logistics and supply chain solutions. We are now gearing up for 2020 and beyond with considerable investment in infrastructure, value-added services such as home delivery and assembly services,” says Raman Kumar, acting managing director of Al-Futtaim Logistics.

Further diversifying its services portfolio, the Contract Logistics division of Al-Futtaim Logistics recently made its first venture into fashion logistics with the opening of a 161,460 sqft facility based in JAFZA to handle over 220,000 units of designer children, men’s and women’s wear. “Al-Futtaim Logistics’ value-added services approach is based on our strategy to innovate and find new ways of doing things to extend the brand experience as one of the leading local logistics service providers with a global reach,” adds Kumar.
