Al Maya Group leads large UAE delegation to Vietnam

UAE-based business conglomerate with over 50 supermarkets in the GCC, Al Maya Group and its group director Kamal Vachani, along with a large business delegation from the UAE met Vietnam’s Vice Minister of Industry and Trade Cao Quoc Hung in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The UAE business delegation led by Vachani discussed ways to boost both way trade specially imports from Vietnam. The Vice Minister welcomed the delegation along with Ngo Khai Hoan, Deputy Director General for South West Asia and Africa Market Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The value of foreign trade between the UAE and Vietnam, including free zones trade, totalled nearly $9 billion in 2017, with exports accounting for around $324 million, re-exports for around $282 million and imports for around $8.4 billion. The UAE is eighth in the list of countries that import products from Vietnam and 32nd internationally in terms of exports in 2016.

“We are very happy to meet the Vice Minister and the discussion to boost trade between the UAE and Vietnam. Al Maya Group is keen to expand its products portfolio from Vietnam,” says Vachani.
