ACE launches digital drive-thru shopping experience

June 3, 2020 | By RetailME Bureau

ACE, part of Al-Futtaim in the region, has launched a digital drive-thru shopping experience at its store in Dubai Festival City. The experience, reportedly the region’s first, allows customers to shop online from a list of over 15,000 products available for drive-thru pick up from the next day onwards. And the drive-thru service is free of charge.

After the success of its online crowd management solution, ACE has quickly innovated and adapted to the new mindset and buying behaviour of customers that demand safe and convenient shopping.

The drive-thru parking includes six car bays, with a dedicated space for people of determination. The design is approved by RTA (Roads and Transport Authority) and developed keeping the safety of customers in mind. The design has taken into account height restrictions for cars, kid-free zones and safe areas marked for customers to step out of the car. Customers need to book a collection time slot to pick up their order between 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM any day of the week. However, the drive-thru service timings at ACE are subject to change with COVID-19 restrictions.

“Al-Futtaim is committed to enriching the lives of its customers. We are constantly finding ways to provide them with safe and convenient ways to shop with us. The service will empower our customers to have the choice to shop online and safely pick up their orders not just during the present circumstances but in the future too,” Regis Schultz, president of retail, Al-Futtaim.

“The latest digital alternate shopping solution is the region’s first purpose-built drive-thru experience and the first drive-thru service for ACE internationally. This is yet another example of our commitment to adapt to and meet our customer’s expectations during these challenging times,” added Médéric Payne, managing director – multi-brands, Al-Futtaim.
