The Hershey Company continues efforts to close gender wage gap

The Hershey Company has achieved one-to-one aggregate gender pay equity for its salaried employees in the US in 2020. Now the company is working to achieve this globally by 2025, according to an official statement. Aligned with its commitment to operate fairly and ethically The Hershey Company continues its efforts to close gender wage gap.

It is one of the few Fortune 500 companies to be led by a woman with Michele Buck as its President & CEO. With a strong commitment to advance gender equity in workplace and communities that it operates in many of its business units and international markets are led by women.

The Hershey Company has also been supporting ‘Girls on the Run’, a non-profit organisation that helps girls studying in third to eighth grades by strengthening their social, emotional and physical skills.

More recently on the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8, the company has relaunched its limited-edition Hershey’s SHE bars to honour women and girls who make an impact on every individual’s lives. For this initiative Hershey collaborated with Girls on the Run coaches and participants who described impactful women in their lives helping the brand curate over 200 powerful adjectives featured on the Hershey’s SHE bars.

“We are excited to reintroduce the Hershey’s SHE bars in new, meaningful ways as part of Hershey’s larger commitment to supporting women and girls this Women’s History Month and every month. This bar with 200+ thoughtful adjectives created with our partners Girls on the Run reminds us to take a moment to honour the women and girls who inspire us every day. We hope to spark meaningful, heart-warming connections through the simple gesture of giving a SHE bar to someone who has played an important role in your life,” said Katie DeCapria, Brand Manager, Hershey’s.
