Indian restaurant Mohalla is the latest UAE homegrown concept plans to open branches in Saudi Arabia, Oman, and the US.
Mohalla, which translates into the community, was born out of a love for food, family and bringing different cultures together. With a regional take on Indian cuisine, this two-year-old Dubai grown brand is now expanding, due to the demand from Saudi Arabia and global partners.
The first international branch will open in the premium development, The Esplanade, with the second location opening in the upmarket, Diplomatic Quarter.
“We, at Atelier House Hospitality & Altamarea group and its Mohalla brand are proud and delighted to be partnering with Unified Hospitality (UH). It has a distinguished history in F&B in Saudi Arabia of running top-class operations in key cities. UH is also a premium real estate developer of mixed-use developments. Together, we combine the capabilities of the best of both and believe we will provide an excellent customer experience with the Mohalla in Riyadh and beyond,” says Panchali Mahendra, managing director of Atelier House Hospitality.
There are a natural migration and travel between UAE and Saudi Arabia and a love and appreciation of food Indian food in the Kingdom. Riyadh has been expanding its restaurant scene and consistently improving its quality and alternatives for the client base. It is a market with huge potential.”
The concept and project of Mohalla, launched in 2018, were designed by Mahendra. It is owned, and operated by Ahmass Fakahany, CEO, Atelier House Hospitality and Altamarea Group, along with local partner, Abdulla Tawakul and Hanan Tawakul.
Located in Dubai Design District, Mohalla is an intimate and soulful experience with Indian street and comfort food from different parts of the country.
