The emblematic Spanish fashion show continues to be a trend-setter and the nursery for promoting new fashion talent in the country.
Since its launch in February 1985, the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid (MBFWM) catwalk has hosted the shows of almost 300 designers, many of whom started their careers on this platform. Today, 30 years down the line, their names read like a who’s who of Spanish fashion, a panorama of the nation’s creativity.
Organised by Ifema, the 62nd edition of MBFWM was held over five days from September 18-to-22 at Feria de Madrid in Spain, with 42 prestigious designers and brands exhibiting the best proposals for Spanish design, and 15 upcoming young designers bringing their fresh ideas to the Samsung Ego Showroom of the Cibelespacio, with direct sales to the public.
The twice-a-year fashion show, which drew a record 50,320 visitors, 12% more than the previous edition, launches the autumn/winter collections in September and the spring/summer collections in February.
