Why craftsmanship and design matters in Luxury Shoe retail?

April 22, 2022 | By Zubina Ahmed

Unique craftsmanship, style, design, exclusivity, limited production and quality over quantity – the luxury market in the region is really booming and the same is reflected in the shoe retail market too.  As per Statista, revenue in the Luxury Footwear segment amounts to $28.48bn in 2022. The market is expected to grow annually by 4.36% (CAGR 2022-2027). As shoppers drive the global rebound in luxury sales, brands are seeking to understand this cohort of consumers in greater depth. “The future of the luxury market is very promising. We are expecting the same boom now which was during the pre-pandemic season.  Also, the current and upcoming festive season of Eid will elevate many brands’ potential in terms of buying, store visits, and online hits”, said Khurram Rafique, Director of NICOLI – an upmarket boutique renowned for it’s luxury fashion footwear and bag collections.

Known for luxury Handmade Crystal Embellished Shoes & Bags, NICOLI was founded in the UAE in 2004. “All out products are handcrafted and produced in limited quantities. As a part of Al Jaroodi Traders Group, NICOLI remains a private enterprise allowing us to ensure complete control over both the quality of our products and their highly desirable designs”,  said the Director of NICOLI, Khurram Rafique. The luxury brand, which has been based in Dubai since its establishment works with artisan factories across the globe, operating hand in hand within the region to create a global impact. They have two physical stores  in UAE (Dubai and Abu Dhabi), and one in Doha and recently they opened  doors in London. They also have a strong online presence where customers can place orders through their website www.nicolishoes.com or through their social media pages.

Loved by Hollywood’s elite, NICOLI has been spotted on the likes of Heidi Klum, Tiffany Haddish, Kathy Griffin and so many more, it is also treasured by women across the region for its dazzling and sophisticated designs. Giving women glamorous yet comfortable height options that exudes style, it offers varied and stunning style options from flats, block heel sandals, pumps and more that have become a wardrobe staple for the women of today.Through our expertise in craftsmanship, we want all our customers to experience the enchanted world of Hollywood glamour & luxurious Italian style. Our  highly experienced skilled personnel are passionate about crafting perfect accessories that have become a part of our clientele’s many most beautiful and memorable life moments and we are constantly discovering and researching new styles whilst staying true to our quality, comfort, and luxury promise” exclaimed Khurram.

Ever evolving as a brand, craftsmanship is an important foundational strategy for any luxury brand. “Our dedicated design and manufacturing team continues to inspire and enchant customers with a distinctive combination of crystal and the finest traditional materials. We believe in quality over quantity – our products are never mass-produced and are handmade from the finest materials”.   All brands need to stick to customer trends, comfort and changing expectations. “In the production, only the finest materials and crystals are used. We have a strong after-sales support team as well. Annually, 12 Limited Edition Collections are produced each year, so we believe in surprising our clients with inventive new styles every single month that keeps them excited and interested in coming back. We plan to expand to other GCC countries and some parts of Western Europe too where we have sensed a promising market for luxury goods, concluded Khurram.
