Footwear brand Steve Madden, which is part of Apparel Group in the region, has launched its Responsible Materials collection in the UAE. This collection marks a significant milestone for Steve Madden and demonstrates the brand’s commitment to sustainability and aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

The Responsible Materials collection includes a range of styles made from materials that are more sustainable than conventional alternatives, including recycled polyurethane (PU), recycled action leather and recycled patent PU.

Importantly, Steve Madden aims for 50% of its products to contain environmentally preferred materials by 2025. The brand continues to replace conventional materials with recycled and bio-based components free from harmful solvents. The brand is also committed to promoting diverse representation, employee engagement and development, and a fair and inclusive supply chain.

In line with Apparel Group’s sustainable vision, the launch of Steve Madden’s Responsible Materials collection showcases the brands’ efforts towards advancing sustainable business practices in the fashion industry. On its part, Steve Madden understands the critical role it plays in reducing global greenhouse gas emissions and creating a positive impact on people, the planet and communities. This new collection is a reflection of the brand’s long-term commitment to incorporating sustainability into every aspect of its business operations.
