Dubai-based Drake & Scull International (DSI) has signed a $29.9 million contract to work on the extension of Majid Al Futtaim Properties’ Mall of the Emirates (MOE), as part of which DSI will procure, install, test and commission all MEP works at the shopping mall, to be completed by next year. The said contract has been awarded to DSI by Khansaheb Civil Engineering, the main contractor for the project.

In this regard, Khaldoun Tabari, vice chairman and CEO of DSI, says, “We are pleased to be awarded this contract for execution of MEP works on a prestigious landmark like MOE. The fact that we bagged the contract also stresses on our proven track record in offering specialised MEP services for large-scale, super-regional shopping malls.”

MOE’s redevelopment project, at an estimated cost of $272.3 million, will include a new fashion district, luxury retail and sports and leisure precinct, alongside new dining concepts and an expansion of its cinemas. All this will be undertaken in phases, with work on phase one already underway.
