Qatar’s Doha Festival City will soon have VOX Cinemas. An agreement has been signed with VOX Cinemas as part of which the mall will see the introduction of 15 state-of-the-art movie theatres, each including a 20-metre digital wide-screen armed with the latest 3D technology.

“VOX Cinemas will set a new standard of premium entertainment and offer the Qatari market the latest technologies to bring them a highly compelling, world-class, movie-going experience unmatched by any cinema operator in this market,” says Kareem M Shamma, CEO of BASREC, the joint venture behind Doha Festival City. “This is one of many components that will establish Doha Festival City as the country’s leading retail and entertainment hub,” he adds.

Cameron Mitchell, CEO of VOX Cinemas, observes, “We are extremely excited to be a part of the most eagerly anticipated retail and leisure destination in Qatar. We are delighted to bring to the city of Doha our state-of-the-art cinema technology, exciting concepts and of course our luxurious premium cinema experience, which altogether we are confident will delight and surprise the residents of Qatar.”

VOX Cinemas is part of a rapidly growing list of regional and international brands that Doha Festival City is introducing to Qatar for the first time. In total, the mall will host over 550 outlets, including 85 dine-in and fast food restaurants. A number of the leading regional retail groups, including Azadea, Landmark, Alshaya and Apparel, have already committed to bringing their fashion and dining outlets to Doha Festival City Mall.
