Reem Mall hires Funtastic to oversee its retail design and delivery

Reem Mall, the upcoming retail, leisure, dining and entertainment destination in the UAE capital, has appointed Funtastic – a design and project management service company specialising in the retail and leisure industry – as the retail design and delivery manager for the project.

Being developed by MENA-based real estate developer National Real Estate Company (NREC) and Kuwait-based real estate management company United Projects for Aviation Services Company (UPAC), the mall is expected to launch in 2018, work on which commenced late last year.

Once completed, Reem Mall will deliver two million sqft of leasable retail, dining and leisure and entertainment space comprising around 450 stores, including 85 F&B outlets and a range of family-focused entertainment offerings.

“Funtastic will provide important coordination and management services for our future tenants. They join a strong team of consultants and advisors who are all working together to ensure that we bring new world-class levels of design, construction and operation to the local retail environment,” says Shane Eldstrom, chief operating officer for Reem Mall.

“We are proud to be appointed as coordinators and managers of tenant construction and we know that our team will add significant business value to the development of this project. This is an exciting development to be a part of and something that we believe will have a significant impact on UAE’s retail sector,” adds Sonny Tan, business head of Funtastic.
