Design 971 at The Dubai Mall showcasing works of local designers

Based at The Dubai Mall, the recently opened Design 971 is an outlet dedicated to collections curated by local designers. From fashion to art and contemporary furniture everything can be found at Design 971.

Every two months, the collections will change to feature different local designers and their products. During January and February this year fashion creations by six designers – including Amongst Few, All Things Mochi, House of Fatam, Reemami, OSAYMIi and Elena Burba – will be featured at the store.

While Amongst Few is a Dubai-based streetwear brand that combines traditional Emirati wear with Western style, All Things Mochi was founded by Aya Tabari – a Palestinian born in Saudi Arabia, raised in Jordan, educated in the UK and settled in Dubai – who uses traditional fabrics from each of the mentioned cultures in her works.

Further House of Fatam is another Dubai-born fashion line by three Emirati sisters Lamya, Shaima and Fatma Gargash and their business partner Eliza Ilyas. Reemami, created by award-winning local designer Reema Al Banna, focuses on architectural and experimental cuts and hand illustrated graphics.

The most recently launched out of the six brands is OSAYMI, a fashion house by designer Ali Al Usaimi focusing on trendy designs that are made of high-quality fabrics. Finally, founded in 2009, Elena Burba, a commercial ready-to-wear brand with a strong cultural identity, is the sixth concept being featured at Design 971.
