Cara Jewellers deploys Avaya SDN Fx

Dubai-based Cara Jewellers has deployed the innovative Avaya SDN Fx fabric next-generation networking technology to support its expansion plans and reduce costs by centralising operations.

Cara currently operates seven retail shops and two manufacturing units, with plans to add sites in the UAE, and to expand operations abroad, with shops planned for Europe and Qatar in the coming year. Cara is also keen to centralise its IT infrastructure, including its IP surveillance system for security and enable mobile access for all employees via Wi-Fi, while controlling communications costs.

With Avaya SDN Fx, all management software is centralised, with a single administrator managing the entire IT operation. Services can be easily extended to any location anywhere in the world, with all members of staff connected through a single wireless system. With Fabric, Avaya provides different zones for CCTV, telephony and the network, making the system virtually impossible to hack, and all camera feeds can be monitored from a central location.

“With our constant drive for expansion, Cara needed a network infrastructure that could adapt to our needs and move at the speed we wanted to go. With Avaya SDN Fx, we have the technology platform to power our growth, while generating a return on investment. The investments we have made today will support services we will deploy in the future and help us achieve our goals,” says Anilkumar Pethani, managing director, Cara Jewellers.

“Enterprises of all sizes today are looking for greater network agility to help them gain a competitive edge. Given the nature of Cara’s business, security and reliability are non-negotiable, and Avaya SDN Fx delivers ease of use and peace of mind in their network infrastructure, while underpinning their growth goals,” adds Frederick Sabty, global vice president, hospitality solutions, Avaya.

The Avaya SDN Fx architecture, built on Avaya Fabric networking technology, is the first to deliver ‘connect anything, anywhere’ simplicity, shaving weeks in provisioning time by allowing devices and users at the network edge to be added easily to the network. New services can be deployed quickly and easily, while ensuring reliability in service delivery and network access.
