Mark Tesseyman, CEO, LIWA Trading Enterprises mentions, “At LIWA we focus on three things. Our Heritage and respecting traditional values. The importance of building strong relationships. The principle of fostering Trust in everything that we do.”

With over three decades of experience in the fashion retail industry, Mark Tesseyman has made his mark as a business leader across the GCC, North Africa and Russia as well as Europe and the UK. Tesseyman was appointed CEO of LIWA Trading Enterprises in 2015 to restructure and grow the organisation. Since then, his key focus has been to target specific market sectors and evolve the company’s retail strategy in line with shifting global trends. He has driven the change management agenda placing the customer first, improving performance and transforming the way the company operates.

Under Tesseyman’s leadership, the LIWA business has transitioned to a hybrid model that was traditionally 100% franchise based. The Group now operates its own homegrown labels, franchised brands, and wholesale/distribution/licensing as part of the commercial trading entity.  The company has also undertaken a full business review of the digital requirements to future-proof as much as possible by implementing software-backed innovations in buying, merchandising, and CRM while embracing social aspects of digital communication to better engage with consumers. The people element of the business is a core fundamental and LIWA has expanded incentive programmes, and initiated a talent review to match the forward business requirements alongside practicing its ‘Living Liwa Life’ ethos that aims to promote colleague wellbeing and engagement.
