Alshaya Group announces the opening of two standalone Disney Stores in the Emirates. The first-ever Disney stores will be located at Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi and Dubai Mall, with both opening in March, just in time for Eid al-Fitr.
John Hadden, CEO of Alshaya Group, expressed excitement, saying, “We are very proud to be bringing the first standalone Disney Stores to the UAE, with both Abu Dhabi and the flagship store in Dubai opening just before Eid al-Fitr. We are sure that Disney fans from across the Emirates – and visitors too – are excited to experience everything Disney has to offer; and stay tuned for some exclusive opening events during March and April.”
The new stores will offer an immersive Disney experience, featuring “Story Arc” corners that transport visitors into different Disney worlds. The stores will also feature photo spots with murals and 3D sculptures of iconic characters like Mickey Mouse and Winnie the Pooh, exclusive to each location. Shoppers will have access to an extensive range of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars products, including apparel, toys, costumes, home décor, and more.
Sara Grewal, Vice President, Retail APAC at The Walt Disney Company, echoed the enthusiasm, stating, “We’re beyond thrilled that Alshaya is bringing not one, but two Disney Stores to the UAE for the first time. These world-class stores will bring guests so much more than a retail opportunity. It truly is a Disney experience – and a magical one. Fans can connect with their favourite Disney stories and characters in person and create new memories that will last a lifetime.”
The Disney Store at Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi will open on 26 March, followed by the flagship store at Dubai Mall on 28 March. Both openings will be accompanied by special events and surprises for fans.
The new stores join existing locations in the region, including those at The Avenues Mall in Kuwait and Doha Festival City in Qatar.
