Kreol Travel Retail Unveils Pistachio Kunafa Chocolate at Sharjah Duty Free

Kreol Travel Retail has launched a standout innovation in the destination confectionery segment, the Pistachio Kunafa Chocolate under the Petit Gourmet brand. It is now available at Sharjah Duty Free, operated by Avolta.

Tapping into the viral appeal of “Dubai chocolate”, this new launch shifts away from impulse formats to a generous 470g sharing pack, positioning it as a premium gifting solution for global travellers. Crafted in Dubai, the product elevates a trending flavour profile into a travel retail-ready SKU rooted in local identity and consumer demand.

“Sharjah Duty Free is excited to present Pistachio Kunafa Chocolate in collaboration with our partner Kreol Travel Retail, and committed to promote innovation and to support made-in-UAE products,” added Alexandre Tabacoff, Managing Director, Avolta Middle East & Egypt.

Petit Gourmet, known for its Mediterranean sweet range including high-quality baklavas, belongs to BMB Group, a part of Agthia Group, the Abu Dhabi-based F&B conglomerate backed by ADQ. Kreol Travel Retail represents Agthia’s growing portfolio of consumer brands across key travel retail locations.

“Travel retail success often hinges on innovation rooted in genuine consumer insights but also on product relatability. By reimagining the popular pistachio kunafa chocolate trend into a compelling sharing format, we’ve created our own spin on creating something that deeply resonates with travellers seeking unique gifting experiences. We have a lot more in the pipeline we can’t wait to share,” said Kreol Arakulath, Executive Director, Kreol Travel Retail.

“When people ask if ‘Dubai chocolate’ is just a passing trend, I tell them, it’s here to stay. Just like dates evolved from a commodity into a timeless gifting staple, Dubai chocolate is following the same journey. Take chocolate-dates, for example — once a novelty, now a must-have in every premium gift box. With over 15 years of experience in this space, I can confidently say this is only the beginning,” said Adham Elsayed, Senior Commercial Director – Snacking, Agthia.

Now available exclusively at Sharjah Duty Free, the Pistachio Kunafa Chocolate reinforces a rising trend: travel retail offerings that are both locally authentic and globally resonant.
