UAE-based retailer Apparel Group has donated 6,000 pairs of Skechers shoes to the frontline healthcare workers battling the global pandemic. The gesture is in appreciation and to acknowledge the healthcare community’s response to COVID-19.

Skechers will distribute the shoes in hospitals and healthcare systems of Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA). The medical centres included Tawam Hospital, Corniche Hospital, Al Dhafra hospitals, Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC), Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC), Ambulatory Healthcare Services (AHS), Al Rahba Hospital, Mafraq Hospital, Al Ain Hospital & SEHA Kidney Care (SKC) centres.

Also, Skechers offered a 25% discount for all healthcare workers associated with SEHA & DHA as a gesture of appreciation.

“Mobilising strategic collaborations have played a critical role in the UAE’s COVID-19 response. Engaging with partners like Skechers for the benefit of our healthcare professionals reflects the spirit of solidarity in the UAE, making the country truly special. We highly appreciate this meaningful gesture from the Apparel Group that acknowledges the contribution of our frontline heroes.” says Amer Aidi, group marketing and communications director, SEHA.

As a pioneer in casual footwear, our goal has always been to keep people comfortable in their shoes. Now, in the face of adversity, some specific individuals need that comfort more than ever. They are undoubtedly the healthcare workers, who relentlessly serve humanity through the toughest of times. Healthcare workers have our most profound respect, and we are humbled to be able to show them some love during this unprecedented time.

“Skechers is pleased to gift a pair of shoes to the healthcare workers of Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) on the frontlines of the on-going situation. Skechers shoes are designed for lifestyle & performance and are known for their style, innovation, quality & comfort, which is an advantage for the healthcare workers. These shoes not only provide ease on the feet but also ease on the mind,” adds a spokesperson for Skechers.
