Qatar-based Al Meera Consumer Goods Company is planning to spend $412 million on the construction of nine malls, which are expected to be completed this year. The new malls are slated to come up inside and outside Doha, says Al Meera’s CEO Guy Sauvage, adding that the company was planning to build 15 malls across the emirate.

“The mission of Al Meera is to serve customers with quality and dedication, and share our resources with the community. To achieve this, Al Meera aims to implement its expansion plans during this year and 2015 to be present in every place on Qatar’s territory. Our expansion approach aims at catering to the wide range of our customers’ needs and our goal to reach them everywhere in Qatar,” Sauvage asserts.

According to him, Al Meera is also growing its presence in Oman. Having acquired three hypermarkets and two supermarkets in 2013, the company is set to renovate three more malls in the sultanate.
