Re-Vision to rollout self-scanning solution to 100 Tesco stores

The Netherlands-based provider of self-scanning solutions Re-Vision has announced that after completing a successful 200 store rollout during 2012-13, Tesco has made the decision to extend the rollout of the scan-as-you-shop solution to another 100 UK stor es by the end of 2014.

Tesco introduced the new shopping concept to customers under the ‘scan-as-you-shop’ name in January 2010. Since then monitoring the performance of the system has shown that the relaxed shopping experience offered to larger basket shoppers, promotes Tesco’s service-driven and customer-oriented philosophy, and has increased customer loyalty.

“The decision to proceed with Re-Vision and Motorola (MC17T retail mobile computer) was made after considerable research into the solution. The value they bring to the project is in their expertise in personal shopping solution implementation and by a scalable, enterprise-class solution and experience in working with large retail organisations. These factors, coupled with strong cooperation made the project very straightforward and we are confident that our partnership will continue to be successful,” says Sally Marriott, retail development IT director, Tesco.

“We at Re-Vision are happy to be the partner chosen by Tesco to power this roll-out. We believe that challenges of enhancing their customer experience will be best addressed by the self-scanning solution from Re-Vision. The industrial roll-out capabilities of the My-Scan self-scanning solution will enable Tesco to launch self-scanning in a large number of stores within a very short time,” adds Michel Haagmans, managing director, Re-Vision.
