In line with the strategic trade and creative alliances between the UAE and China, the Dubai Design District (d3) will host 1,500 families from across China for the Kids Fashion Fair event taking place from February 23-28 at d3 and City Walk.

The event will welcome fashion designers from around the world to kick start the first international fashion week for children in partnership with Showkids, a premier Chinese platform connecting the children’s fashion and modelling elite through five continents.

The component at d3 will overlook The Block at d3’s Waterfront between February 24 and 26. It is supported by the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), Dubai Design and Fashion Council as well as Union Pay.

“We are delighted to welcome the Kids Fashion Fair event and all of the families that have travelled to Dubai, to d3 and we hope that everyone will sample our vibrant and creative community. It is an honour to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Chinese New Year and a pleasure to host this event in the district,” says d3 CEO, Mohammad Saeed Al Shehhi.

This exciting televised family event will feature numerous Chinese and international designers along with the participation of local multi-brand stores such as Level Kids. Some of the children’s designers include Judy Fan, Amelie Wang, To Be @Thrill, Wannabebe, Nancy Vuu, D-Harry, Beauty Berry, Sunhaitao, Dorm Kids, Hongstar Kids and Stephanie.

Local d3 restaurants and eateries have developed special kid-friendly Chinese-inspired dishes to welcome the visitors and the ‘Year of the Dog’. Other attractions include dragon dancers, face painting and photo booths. The Kids Fashion Fair Awards ceremony at d3 on February 25 is the highlight.

Dubai is home to nearly 300,000 Chinese residents and is quickly becoming China’s preferred tourist destination. Asia’s popular credit and debit card issuer, UnionPay, has been working with the district’s retailers and restaurants to facilitate and support seamless customer transactions.

The Kids Fashion Fair is part of wider Chinese New Year activities spread out across Dubai with a packed schedule of family-friendly entertainment and events.a
