UAE-based shopping mall and retail developer Majid Al Futtaim has announced the launch of Carrefour City-The Neighbourhood Store. The Carrefour City is a smaller sized store designed to offer easy access to daily shopping.
“The Carrefour City model, a best practice started in France, is developed to answer to the daily shopping needs of the residential and business communities with a focus on fresh food, beverages, groceries and dairy products,” says Franck Rouquet, vice-president of Majid Al Futtaim Carrefour Market in UAE, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain.
With up to 4,000 products on the shelves for daily and weekly shopping needs and a broad range of fresh food, ready to eat meals and snacks, the company says Carrefour City offers a quick and easy shopping experience.
The Carrefour City stores will be built in the range of 1,000 sqft and 4,300 sqft and will display Carrefour private label products as well.
The first Carrefour City will open in November 2014 in collaboration with RTA Metro, with a plan to expand nationwide.
